The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) is an industry standards organisation in the mutual funds sector. It is an association of all the SEBI registered Asset Management Companies (AMCs). AMFI is dedicated to developing the Indian Mutual Fund Industry on professional, healthy and ethical lines and to enhance and maintain standards in all areas with a view to protecting and promoting the interests of mutual funds and their unit holders.

Day to day operations of asset management of Mutual Funds is handled by the AMC. AMC is responsible for managing the asset management/investment function of the schemes along with all the necessary infrastructure, marketing & promotion, interaction with regulators & various service providers. The AMC must ensure that the investment of funds pertaining to any scheme is not contrary to the provisions of the SEBI regulations and the trust deed.

AMFI Registration number (ARN) is a unique number issued by AMFI to identify intermediaries who are involved in the selling of Mutual Funds in India. The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has made it compulsory for all intermediaries involved in selling or marketing of mutual funds (like DBS Bank), to register with AMFI & obtain an AMFI Registration Number (ARN). Each ARN holder can access data related to only those transactions of customers where its ARN is mapped with the Mutual Fund house.

Reserve Bank of India has granted approval to DBS Bank Ltd. to set up a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) in India – DBS Bank India Limited (DBIL). DBS Bank is in the process of setting up DBS Bank India Limited and once the transition happens, only the locally incorporated subsidiary will exist. This necessitates the change in the ARN number.

Your investments portfolio on digibank will be transferred seamlessly to the new ARN and there will be no impact to your existing portfolio.

There will be no changes in the existing mutual fund mandates due to the transition. Your mutual fund mandates will be honoured and SIPs will flow as scheduled.

There will be no changes in your existing nominee details, or any other details and they will continue as per your given instructions.

Access to client details pertaining to holdings/transactions are provided by AMC to the ARN holder mapped to the investors. If you do not accept the ARN change, the ownership of your existing investments will be transferred to the respective AMC’s, and all your future service requests/holding statements for your existing investments will be handled directly by them. However, you can continue to use your digiSavings account for regular banking transactions and for new future investments.

Yes, you will need to individually reach out to each AMC, in whose Mutual fund you have invested via your DBS account / digiSavings account, to convey your non-acceptance, within 15 days from the date of this communication.
