How many days will it take for the address to get updated in Aadhaar?
Usually, it takes 3 to 5 days for the request to be processed. However, this may vary from case to case.
By when do I need to update the address?
Please update your address within 30 days of receiving the email. Once you have updated the address in Aadhaar, please update the same in your Digibank account by logging into the Digibank app.
What will happen if I don’t update my address?
We will be forced to restrict your account for any debits. You will not be able to withdraw the money in your account or make any purchases online or at POS terminals. Your recurring transactions and Standing instructions, if any may also be impacted.
How do I update my Aadhaar address with Digibank?
Address update with Digibank is simple, and can be done in the following steps:
Login to Digibank app and access your 'Profile' from the side menu
Tap on your residential address to start the update process
Tap on 'Fetch Latest' to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar linked mobile number
Enter the OTP to display your latest Aadhaar address
Tap on "I Live Here" to update your address in bank records
Why do I need to update my current address in the Aadhaar?
Your Aadhaar records must be updated with your current address, so that you can experience unrestricted banking services.
What will happen if I don’t update my Aadhaar address?
If your Aadhaar records do not match the details provided by you to the Bank, you may not be able to experience unrestricted banking. Credits and debits to and from your account may be restricted, and subsequently, your account may be closed.
What can I do if I don’t have any address proof accepted by UIDAI?
In such a scenario, you can request for an Address Validation Letter at your present residential ad with the consent and authentication of the address verifier (a family member, relative, friends, and landlord) who is willing to let you use their address as proof. UIDAI shall send an Address Validation Letter to the address, which could be used for online update.
UIDAI does not mandate that address on Aadhaar has to be current residential address. Why DBS is asking me to do this?
It is the requirement for bank accounts and banking services as per the KYC guidelines prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India.
