The main campus of the NUS, Singapore, is the Kent Ridge campus, located in the southwestern part of the country. The campus occupies an area of 150 hectares and is one of the largest in all of Singapore. Then there is the Outram campus, where the Duke-NUS postgraduate medical school is located. The third campus is the Bukit Timah campus, which houses the Lee Juan Yew School of Public Policy and the Faculty of Law. Also, the Yale-NUS Liberal Arts College is located across the NUS Kent Ridge Campus, at University Town (known colloquially as UTown) and is a 15-acre campus. All campuses are equipped with modern resources and facilities, including IT and computing services, libraries, transportation facilities, etc.
The NUS provides students with on-campus accommodation of three types - Halls of Residence, Students Residences and Residential Colleges. Approximately 6,000 residential places are distributed on campus and located between the Student Residences and Halls of Residence. Additionally, about 4,100 students live in the residential college and graduate residences at UTown. As an NUS student, you can utilise the free internal shuttle buses plying on the campus all days of the week.
There are seven main Halls of Residence at NUS, with about 3000 residential places. They are as under:
Undergraduate students at the NUS can reside at the three student residences featuring clusters of 11-15 single rooms equipped with their own bathroom and kitchen facilities. Kitchens in these rooms are equipped with the necessary cooking appliances. Graduate students studying on the UTown campus can choose from apartments and single rooms. Modelled after the residential college systems in the UK and the US, Residential Colleges have been recently introduced by the National University of Singapore. As an international student who has applied for admission by the application closing date, you will get to know if you have been selected to study at NUS through the Online Application Status Facility (OASF). You can download the admission e-letter from the OASF admissions link using your application number and password assigned at the time of application. The application outcomes are typically released between May and July for international students, and you can log in to OASF during this time regularly to check the result.

The NUS admits students based on their academic merits and open competitions among eligible applicants, as applicable. The university uses the academic merit process to determine admissions for non-interview courses, whereas basic academic proficiency is also needed for students considered under aptitude based admissions.
