My internship at DBS was a valuable stepping stone that sparked my interest in data science and equipped me with the fundamental skills to return as a Management Associate.

Working in a big data environment, I developed technical skills in PySpark and MLOps while gaining hands-on experience solving real banking use cases. Seeing how data-driven solutions translate into tangible business impact gave me a much deeper appreciation of what it means to be a data scientist in a bank.

Starting out as in intern in the Mortgage team gave me a firsthand look at DBS's customer-centric culture and how they guide the way we serve our customers.

I first began my journey at DBS with an internship as a Business Analyst in Institutional Banking Group Technology, before returning for a second internship as a Full-Stack Developer in Consumer Banking Group Technology.

Coming from a non-banking background, these internship experiences helped me build a strong understanding of the financial industry, DBS’ ways of working, and the emerging technologies that power the bank. Priority consideration is given to penultimate year students; selected roles may be open to students in other years of study

1. When can I join the DBS Internship Programme ?

We recruit interns across 3 internship cycles each year:

January to July: 6-month Off-Cycle or Semester Internship
May to August: 3-month Summer Internship
July to December: 6-month Off-Cycle or Semester Internship

2. Does the Internship Programme offer hybrid work arrangement?

DBS has permanently adopted a 60-40 hybrid working arrangement, in which employees are given the flexibility to work remotely for up to 40% of the time. This will vary according to the job function.

3. Do you offer part time internship?

No. We are seeking interns who can commit to a full-time internship for minimum 12 weeks.

4. Are interns allowed to take time-off during office hours to go back to school for lessons?

No. We are seeking interns who can commit to a full-time internship for minimum 12 weeks.

5. What can I expect after completing my internship?

Interns who show excellent leadership capabilities and exemplary performance will be fast tracked to Management Associate Programme.

6. Can I apply for my internship to be credit bearing with my university?

Yes. Please inform your Campus Recruiter about this request if you are shortlisted for a role.

7. What is the salary and benefits package?

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package in a dynamic working environment that supports your development and recognises your achievements. More information will be shared with you if you are shortlisted.

8. Will I have the opportunity to work overseas during the Internship Programme?

No. You will be based in Singapore during the Internship Programme.
