DBS Hong Kong pilots GlobeSend remittance service for faster and cost-effective cross-border payments for businesses | 繁體

Hong Kong, 25 Nov 2025 - DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“DBS Hong Kong”) today announced the pilot launch of DBS GlobeSend, an innovative cross-border payment service designed to transform global transactions for businesses in Hong Kong, meeting the growing demand for short turnaround time (as short as real time), smooth, cost-effective, and secure cross-border transactions. Following successful launches in Singapore and Taiwan, DBS Hong Kong is currently piloting GlobeSend for selected SME clients, with full launch anticipated in 2026.

DBS Hong Kong GlobeSend leverages smart routing and real-time exchange rates to provide a seamless, integrated, and cost-effective platform, enabling as fast as real-time or same day remittance service to 110+ markets, allowing businesses to easily send money globally via DBS IDEAL platform, and directly paying in the supplier’s local currency in full amount. GlobeSend charges are lower than traditional telegraphic transfers and most banks’ overseas remittance fees, with no hidden intermediary bank charges^[1], businesses may potentially save up to or as much as 40% of charges^[2].

At the pilot stage, GlobeSend facilitates transactions up to the equivalent of HKD500,000 in 110+ local currencies, with real time settlements for the Philippine Pesos (up to PHP3.8 million) and Thai Baht (up to THB500,000) transactions, achieving zero-time difference in cross-border transactions. The pilot programme will see a phased expansion of its capabilities in real-time or same-day delivery. Future pilot phases will further enhance real-time cross-border transfers for AUD, GBP, JPY and EUR.
