For every purchase of BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati Index Mutual Fund through the digibank by DBS application, one mangrove tree is donated and planted in Bedono Village, Demak
Indonesia, 07 Feb 2023 - Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-focused assets under management (AuM) in Asia-Pacific are expected to grow by more threefold to US$3.3 trillion by 2026[1], faster than the growth of products in other asset and financial markets. The impressive growth is supported by the increasingly diverse ESG-focused investment products to satisfy public demand for investing. One of the products is BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati Index Mutual Fund from PT BNP Paribas Asset Management whose potential investment growth rate follows the performance of the SRI-KEHATI Index. Consistent with the principles of sustainable and responsible investment (SRI), BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati has been available on the digibank by DBS application since November 18, 2022. Customers can buy and manage investment products according to the latest market conditions anywhere, anytime, in just one click.
Head of Investment and Insurance Products PT Bank DBS Indonesia Djoko Soelistyo said, “While focusing on digital transformation, we want to develop sustainable digital innovation to ensure service flexibility for customers and to enable them to seize investment opportunities at the right time. Now that BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati is available on the digibank by DBS application, customers can navigate the app and manage their wealth according to trends, support the government in creating a positive investment climate, and contribute to biodiversity."
BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati is a passive index mutual fund designed to replicate the performance and movement of the SRI-KEHATI index suitable for aggressive investors with long-term investment goals. The SRI-KEHATI index is comprised of 25 issuers selected by KEHATI Foundation for their achievements in promoting sustainable goals, as well as their high awareness of the environmental, social and good corporate governance aspects[2]. Unlike traditional investment products aimed solely at offering financial returns for investors, the BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati mutual fund also provides opportunities for customers to contribute to society and the environment through activities coordinated by KEHATI Foundation.
By purchasing BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati on the digibank by DBS application until March 31, 2023, customers can donate one mangrove tree and will be awarded an e-certificate for mangrove tree planting as a manifestation of the collaboration between Bank DBS Indonesia and LindungiHutan. On January 28, 2023, Bank DBS Indonesia planted the first 1,000 mangrove trees in Bedono Village, Demak, Central Java. The trees were donated by customers through the purchase of the BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati mutual fund
"As a purpose-driven bank, Bank DBS Indonesia actively supports efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals in Indonesia through our entire strategies and daily business operations, including by providing ESG-focused products to customers. By purchasing BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati on the digibank by DBS application, customers can not only take full advantage of the momentum of the latest investment trends but also contribute directly to environmental preservation," Djoko Soelistyo concluded.
Commenting on the support for the initiative, Chief Executive Officer PT BNP Paribas Asset Management Priyo Santoso said, "As an investment management partner, the program is aligned with our mission when we launched BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati, which is to support the concept of impact investing. Through the fund, investors can make financial investments while contributing to environmental preservation. We are proud to partner with Bank DBS Indonesia that plays an important role in the preservation of biodiversity, not only through the BNP Paribas SRI-Kehati mutual fund but also through the mangrove tree planting activity as part of the programme."
