Indonesia, 17 Sept 2023 - Bank DBS Indonesia organised a Customer Day event to seize the momentum of National Customer Day which is celebrated every September 4. The event, with the theme 'Live to spark life more, Bank less', was held at Chillax Sudirman in Jakarta and was open to the public. Present at the event was Deputy Head of Consumer Banking, PT Bank DBS Indonesia
Melfrida Gultom, who interacted with and served visitors to demonstrate Bank DBS Indonesia's determination to strengthen relationships with customers and to show appreciation for customers for their trust in Bank DBS Indonesia during its 34-year journey.
Consumer Banking Director, PT Bank DBS Indonesia
Rudy Tandjung said, "We would like to express our gratitude to our customers who entrust their financial and banking matters to Bank DBS Indonesia. For us, our customers are part of our extended family, which motivates us to always provide the best banking products that are relevant to their needs. Going forward, we are committed to continuing to innovate and pursue digital transformation to make banking easier for our customers so they can 'Live more, Bank less'."
Customer Day with Bank DBS Indonesia was a series of activities, including a session to educate people about the importance of protecting personal data against various cyber threats such as malware, followed by a quiz with prizes.
To meet customers' needs, Bank DBS Indonesia has digibank by DBS, a full-fledged digital banking application that allows customers to conduct daily banking transactions seamlessly in one application, such as savings and investment, no-fee transfers, credit card applications, bill payments, and installment payments while contributing positively to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. Today, digibank by DBS serves more than 800,000 customers with the amount of third-party funds increasing by twofold in the last two years and investment funds growing by 60% from the same period in 2022.
In this digital era, Bank DBS Indonesia makes customer data protection a priority. One of the technologies used is the Know Your Customer (KYC) process which utilises the face recognition feature that is directly integrated with Dukcapil to ensure the authenticity of customer data used when opening an account. Bank DBS Indonesia also applies two-factor authentication (2FA) using a soft token that offers better protection than the One-Time Password (OTP). Bank DBS Indonesia also regularly educates customers on personal data security and the risks of digital banking applications.
Additionally, as a purpose-driven bank, Bank DBS Indonesia plays an active role in environmental and social sustainability issues. This is embodied in Bank DBS Indonesia’s three sustainability pillars, namely Responsible Banking – to deliver sustainable banking products and services; Responsible Business Practice – to take into account the environment in business operations; and Impact Beyond Banking – to create a positive impact on the environment and the community.
To attain the Responsible Banking pillar, Bank DBS Indonesia offers customers tips and tricks for sustainable living as well as access to green investment instruments that suit their risk profile through the LiveBetter feature on the digibank by DBS application. In addition, the bank has the Green Savings account. By opening a Green Savings account, people can donate a portion of their savings account’s interest to improve the welfare of cocoa farmers in Lampung and West Sulawesi through the Krakakoa social enterprise and to support equal education opportunity for children and youths in remote areas through a partnership with Yayasan Tangan Pengharapan.
“In addition to showing appreciation for customers for their support, Customer Day with Bank DBS Indonesia also created the right momentum for encouraging customers to play a role in making a positive impact on the community. We hope that this event will benefit visitors through direct interactions that we build,"
Rudy Tandjung concluded.
