DBS Hong Kong stands with the community and supports healthcare workers in fighting against the pandemic | 繁體

Hong Kong, 11 Mar 2022 - DBS Bank Hong Kong (“DBS Hong Kong”) today announced a donation of HK$7 million in response to the most serious wave of Covid-19 infections Hong Kong has faced.

DBS Hong Kong launches a 1:1 matching fund donation program to mobilise the public, including its customers and employees, to join hands to support the hard-hit communities under the pandemic through donations to Feeding Hong Kong and Foodlink Foundation.  DBS Hong Kong pledges to match every dollar raised by the public to support the two NGOs in preparing and distributing more food packs to the vulnerable communities affected by the current epidemic situation. Over 20,000 antigen rapid test kits will also be distributed together with the food packs. In addition, DBS credit cardholders will be incentivised by being able to earn double rewards should donations be made with their DBS credit cards via the link(s) below:

To show the bank’s support and gratitude for our dedicated healthcare workers in Hong Kong, DBS HK will donate 100,000 soup vouchers, as a gesture of appreciation to all the staff of the Hospital Authority, including the dedicated frontline professionals and backend support staff. What’s more, DBS Hong Kong will also initiate a #ThankYouHKHealthcareHeroes movement on social media to engage the public to cheer for our healthcare heroes.

In addition to the community contributions, DBS Hong Kong has introduced a series of Covid-relief measures to support individual customers, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to address their needs and ease the challenges brought by the pandemic.

Relief measures to support DBS individual customers

  • From now until further notice, DBS is offering late credit card fee waivers for DBS Credit Cardholders who are employed in vulnerable industries recently impacted by the outbreak of the pandemic.
  • From now until 27 March 2022, DBS is offering full handling fee rebates upon successful application for 6-month Flexi Shopping interest-free instalments for tax or insurance payment, supermarket or department store spending categories with DBS Credit Card.
  • DBS is extending COVID-19 coverage for TravellerShield Insurance, which includes Medical Expenses, Hospital Cash, Emergency Medical Evacuation and/or Repatriation, Trip Cancellation, Trip Curtailment and more.

Relief measures to support SMEs

  • DBS Hong Kong fully supports the Pre-approved Principal Payment Holiday Scheme by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). This serves SMEs to address their urgent cashflow needs and relieve financial pressure.
  • DBS Hong Kong is partnering with Chubb to provide exclusive Covid-19 insurance coverage, including extended compensation for confirmed Covid-19 cases during the course of work and work-from-home extension.
  • With the unprecedented challenges facing SMEs, from now until 30 June 2022, new SME customers who successfully submit their “DBS Online Account Opening for Business” applications can enjoy rewards up to HK$180,000.

  • Over HK$100,000 transaction fee waivers, including Telegraphic Transfer, FPS, Autopay/ Payroll, etc.
  • Minimum Deposit Balance service fee waiver for the first 3 months;
