In line with our sustainability strategy, we are committed to drive progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All 17 interrelated goals represent an ambitious sustainability agenda by 2030. We have chosen to focus on six SDGs, which we believe we can make the most meaningful contributions to, taking into account the markets in which we operate.
Effective governance and board oversight is crucial to ensure resilience and drive long-term value creation. At DBS, the Board is collectively responsible for the long-term success of the bank and has ultimate responsibility of our sustainability strategy and reporting. It provides constructive challenge and strategic advice to management.
We established our Board Sustainability Committee in 2022 to provide greater governance and oversight on our sustainability agenda, including our net zero commitment, which is a strategic priority for the bank. The BSC is chaired by DBS Group CEO Tan Su Shan. Its members come from different business backgrounds and bring together complementary skills and experience.
