Indonesia, 21 Feb 2022 - Bank DBS Indonesia collaborates with CARInih, a technology-based company that prioritises a collaborative ecosystem, to support the digital transformation of small, micro, and medium enterprises (SMEs) online and offline. CARInih, which became a customer of Bank DBS Indonesia in December 2021, provides an application that features Bank DBS Indonesia’s innovative corporate digital banking services, including DBS MAX QRIS. The partnership facilitates customer transactions and enables smooth payment to partners.

The current digital development has increased the public’s need for services that support a fast and easy lifestyle, including in facilitating shopping. People are shifting to digital platforms like e-commerce to shop because online shopping is easier and timesaving compared to in-store shopping. In addition, the public’s need for online shopping means SMEs should start offering their products through digital platforms. According to the e-Conomy SEA 2021 report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, Indonesia’s gross merchandise value (GMV) in 2021 was expected to reach US$70 billion, with an annual growth rate of 49% compared to 2020. The sharp increase was in line with the 52% growth in total e-commerce transactions. During Indonesia Fintech Summit 2021, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) revealed that there were 2,319 startups in Indonesia by the end of 2021.

“The rapid digitalization of SMEs encourages Bank DBS Indonesia to actively provide banking solutions that are easy, safe, and convenient in accordance with our principle ‘Live More, Bank Less’. The digital banking solutions that facilitate customers in making any kind of transaction to help them grow their business – our digital strength – are packaged in This is DBS digibanking. By supporting digital technology adoption by SMEs, Bank DBS Indonesia becomes a part of the digital ecosystem and helps speed up financial inclusion in Indonesia,” said Angela Thenaria, SVP Institutional Banking Group, PT Bank DBS Indonesia.

The DBS MAX QRIS feature available on the CARInih application is a digital payment system using the Quick Response Indonesia Standard (QRIS) code system that provides a real time credit settlement service through a scan and pay function. DBS MAX QRIS will issue a comprehensive report by integrating all the transactions from various merchants using QRIS through the QRIS-Encore Report to facilitate CARInih reconciliation process and to ensure smooth payment to partners. When customers wish to use the QRIS payment method, they can also pick the payment source, which is either a bank or e-wallet. When a transaction is completed, customers will get instant transaction notification through Instant Credit Notification.

“For us, applications are equivalent to solutions. It is our hope that CARInih can be the preferred solution for local small enterprises, particularly in running their business. Simply using the CARInih application enables entrepreneurs to have a store management system that is integrated with payment and shipment, marketing support and extended reach through access to online stores, and various features that are integrated to ensure ease of operation. One of the features is the result of collaboration between PT DKI and DBS Indonesia,” said PT DKI Founder and CEO Tan Leny Yonathan (“Leny Tan”).

To mark the launch of the application, CARInih invited Indonesian customers to support Indonesia’s small businesses through an attractive sales promotion for customers who download the CARInih application on Google Play Store, namely a special offer of Rp22 for all the tagged products of partner small businesses that can be ordered via the CARInih application from February 22 to March 20, 2022.

“Bank DBS Indonesia maximises the digital experience and user journey of customers and CARInih partners through DBS MAX QRIS that is integrated with the use of API. The service is a solution to ensure ease of transactions by CARInih customers and CARInih’s daily bookkeeping,” said Head of Sales, Global Transaction Services, PT Bank DBS Indonesia, Husin Hartono.

DBS MAX QRIS, which is part of the This is DBS digibanking campaign that provides a seamless experience for corporate and MSME customers in their daily business journey, won the Top Innovation Choice Award 2021 from Infobrand. Furthermore, Bank DBS Indonesia’s digital transformation has also been recognized and won awards, such as Indonesia’s Most Popular Digital Financial Brands (Millennials’ Choice) 2021 from ICONOMICS, Indonesia Outstanding Millennials' Brand Choice Awards 2021 from Warta Ekonomi, Digital Brand Awards 2021 from Infobank, Indonesia Digital Innovation Awards 2021 from Warta Ekonomi, as well as The Best Full-Fledged Banking 2021 from CNBC.
