Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise, raiSE

Through a cross-sector collaboration between the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Council of Social Service, Social Enterprise Association and Tote Board, the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise, raiSE was established in 2015 to develop the Social Enterprise sector in Singapore. With an alignment in strategic focus, DBS Foundation partners with raiSE to champion social entrepreneurship for a more inclusive society in Singapore.

Partnership outcomes:

  • The 2020 FestivalForGood featured over 130 social enterprises across Asia and featured conversations to help corporates kickstart their journey in partnering with Social Enterprises! Read more about the festival here.

Singapore Management University (SMU)

The DBS-SMU Sustainability Initiative was jointly launched in 2019 to support academics, businesses and students passionate about tackling real world sustainability challenges. DBS commits over SGD 1 million to this first-of-its-kind initiative in Southeast Asia.

Partnership outcomes:

  • The Business for Good Internship Programme provides undergraduates with internship opportunities to learn how innovative local social enterprises supported by DBS Foundation do business differently. This programme is a collaboration between SMU Lien Centre for Social Innovation and DBS Bank.
  • Under the 10th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC), the DBS Foundation Social Impact Prize is awarded to sustainable and scalable businesses that address crucial social problems and make cities of the future more inclusive, healthier and greener. This prize is a partnership between SMU Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and DBS Foundation.
