Kar Siong has more than 30 years of working experience under his belt in banking. He joined DBS in 2003 and is currently the Head of Group Audit, effective 1st April 2025. In this role, he is a member of the Group Management Committee.A seasoned banker, Kar Siong was the Group Head of Corporate and SME Banking in February 2023 - a member of the Institution Banking Group’s Management Committee. In this role, he was responsible for the growth of the Mid-sized corporates as well as the small and medium size enterprises across 6 core markets, namely Singapore; Hong Kong; Taiwan; India; Indonesia and China. Prior to that, Kar Siong was the Managing Director and Head of SME Banking responsible for the strategy and growth in Singapore.Between 2015-2019, he assumed an overseas assignment in Shanghai, China to lead the China Consumer Banking & Wealth Management team in building a sustainable and growing consumer & wealth business, through providing high-quality service and tailor-made asset/liability portfolio solutions for clients. Over the last 20+ years, Kar Siong has taken on numerous senior leadership roles and responsibilities within DBS Group covering both local and regional franchises. He was previously on the Board of Directors for DBS Vickers Securities Holdings and Board of Directors for DBS Bank (Taiwan) Ltd. Kar Siong was also appointed as the Director and Chairman (rotating) with Credit Bureau (Singapore) Pte Ltd from Aug 2023 to Mar 2025.Kar Siong graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Social Sciences and in 1993, he was recruited under the prestigious Global Management Associate Program with Citibank, N.A. (in Singapore)
