ATM Security
DBS protects you whenever you use our ATMs
In order to protect you from fraud, and give you an added layer of security whenever you use our ATMs, we have installed Fraudulent Device Inhibitors (FDI), keypad shield and security cameras throughout our ATM network.
Fraudulent Device Inhibitors (FDI)
The FDI prevents fraudsters from placing a skimming device over the ATM card slot, thus keeping your personal information and money safe.
Security Cameras
Our surveillance cameras installed at every ATM allow us to monitor recorded footage, in the event of any crime.
Keypad Shields
Keypad shields have been installed at all ATMs and CAMs to provide you with greater privacy as you enter your pin.
Overseas ATM Usage
ATM, Debit or Credit Cards that have not been used outside Singapore since 1 July 2011 have had their overseas ATM usage disabled.
You may enable or disable overseas ATM usage* for your cards via DBS iBanking, or at any DBS/POSB ATM or branch in Singapore.
* In the event the Bank discerns any suspicious overseas ATM activity on your card, we will disable the overseas ATM usage feature and alert you on this disabled status via an SMS.
SMS Alerts
The Bank will send SMS alerts to your mobile phone number on our records for the following types of transactions on your ATM, Debit or Credit Cards:
- Local and overseas ATM cash withdrawals which are above a threshold amount
- Cash Advances
- NETS purchases/cashback and AXS transactions which are above a threshold amount
