digibank by DBS holds "Belajar Bareng digibank ‘Walk the Talk’ #BornReady Series" in five major cities to increase financial literacy and integrated investments | Bahasa
Indonesia, 06 Aug 2022 - As a purpose-driven bank, Bank DBS Indonesia is committed to providing education on financial literacy and investment for the public through the “Belajar Bareng digibank ‘Walk the Talk: Born Ready’ Series”. Bank DBS Indonesia holds the programme in collaboration with Coffee Meets Stocks, a stock community that proactively provides investment education for the public by bringing together reliable financial consultants and investment experts. Entering its third year, the series was held in five cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Medan, and Surabaya.
This year, the “Belajar Bareng digibank ‘Walk the Talk: Born Ready’ Series” roadshow was part of the “Born Ready: Semua Terlahir Siap Investasi” campaign that was launched to encourage customers to invest through the digibank by DBS application. Before they start investing, people must have adequate knowledge about the right investment strategies and products, considering that digitisation and its conveniences do not necessarily help customers to make good investment decisions. This was confirmed by Bank DBS Indonesia’s Customer Experience research. In fact, the research found that 50% of digibank by DBS clients still need assistance to make the right financial decisions that suit their needs.
Rudy Tandjung, Director of Consumer Banking Group, PT Bank DBS Indonesia, said, "We see that people have great enthusiasm for financial literacy and various investment products we offer. This is very important for them to make the right decisions in growing their financial portfolios. The digibank by DBS application facilitates clients in obtaining curated information on market trends through smart notifications, digital advisors who offer advice on investment product choices, and digital financial tools to facilitate clients in choosing investment products using Infovesta’s mutual fund scoring and financial-goal calculator.
The ”Belajar Bareng digibank ‘Walk the Talk: Born Ready’ Series” also strengthens Bank DBS Indonesia's commitment to being more than a bank, but to also positively making an impact on society and to increasing financial inclusion in Indonesia. Through the programme, Bank DBS Indonesia also supports the government's objective to achieve 90% of the financial inclusion target by 2024.
“We welcome Bank DBS Indonesia’s initiative to provide financial education for the public, particularly on how to make prudent investment. We hope this collaboration could encourage people to invest confidently and increase financial inclusion, especially in the investment sector,” said Coffee Meets Stocks CEO and Founder Theo Derick.
The “Walk the Talk” series is an embodiment of Bank DBS Indonesia’s “Live more, Bank less” principle that enables clients to enjoy life more with hassle-free banking. Through the principle, which was introduced in 2018, Bank DBS Indonesia presents smart, intuitive, and innovative digital banking and maintains the commitment to continuing to provide education on financial literacy and to offering assistance tailored to suit clients’ profiles and needs.
