Hong Kong, 02 Apr 2004 - It has come to the attention of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited that an Internet website calling itself DBS Bank and operating under www.dbsbankhk.com has been set up.

DBS Bank wishes to advise that this website has no affiliation whatsoever with DBS Bank, nor the Group.

DBS Bank will never request customers for their password(s), whether at branches, by phone, by e-mail, by written requests or by any other means. DBS Bank would also like to remind customers to ensure they are connected to a valid DBS Bank website before keying in any confidential personal data. Customers are strongly urged not to access their ec-banking accounts through hyperlinks embedded in e-mails. Customers are reminded to always type www.dbs.com/hk into the browser address bar or use favourites / bookmarks to access the DBS Bank website.

DBS Bank has reported the fraudulent website to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the police for further investigation. The police are also working with relevant authorities to shut down the fraudulent website.

If customers are concerned that they may have revealed their security details to fraudulent websites, they should call DBS Bank's customer service centre at (852) 2290 8123.
