Forbes, a global media company, ranked Bank DBS Indonesia second in the list of World’s Best Banks 2020 out of 14 major banks in Indonesia. Forbes, in collaboration with marketing research firm Statista, published its second World’s Best Banks list in 2020. A total of 450 banking institutions across the world were entered in the list based on surveys involving more than 65,000 customers in 23 countries where the banks operate.
In 2019, Bank DBS Indonesia was ranked tenth in the first list of the World’s Best Banks before climbing to the second spot in a matter of one year. Forbes and Statista gave the awards to banks that are able to build and maintain a long-standing reputation and recognise the current needs of customers, such as digital banking capabilities, digital payment technology, and digital banking applications in smartphones.
By taking into account the services on offer, Forbes and Statista rated banks based on compliment (30%) and level of satisfaction (30%), as well as five dimensions (40%), namely trust, terms & conditions, customer service, digital services, and financial advice. The survey results, which showed that customers in Indonesia pay the most attention to trust and digital services, helped propel Bank DBS Indonesia to the second spot in the list. The improvement was made possible by the advantages of digitisation that have also increased customer confidence.
Leading economic magazine Global Finance has released the list of the winners of the 18th annual Best Sub-custodian Bank Awards. Bank DBS Indonesia was named winner of the 2020 Best Sub-custodian Bank Award in Indonesia for the first time.
The award confirmed the recognition of Bank DBS Indonesia as a banking institution that provides the best services in Indonesia. The award specifically recognised Bank DBS Indonesia’s capability of providing quality custodian services, managing customer relations, competitive pricing, smooth handling of products, technology platforms, business sustainability plans, and knowledge of local regulations and practices, especially within Indonesia’s capital market.
