Bank DBS Indonesia provides capital access for corporate customers to enable them to maintain growth in the midst of pandemic | Bahasa
Strong business goals and value encourage Dos Ni Roha to continue to meet market demand
Dos Ni Roha has been a corporate customer of Bank DBS Indonesia since 2014. In addition to working capital, Bank DBS Indonesia also provides bank guarantee and accounts payable financing to facilitate Dos Ni Roha's financial operations. Dos Ni Roha also uses DBS IDEAL digital banking service for various banking financial services such as salary payments. Dos Ni Roha’s employees get their salary credited to their digibank by DBS accounts.
Rudy Tanoesoedibjo, owner and CEO of Dos Ni Roha, the largest medical facility and supplier in Indonesia, acquired the business ten years ago and transformed it into a large company it is today. Dos Ni Roha distributes health facilities and supplies ranging from vitamins, hand sanitizers, Covid-19 rapid test devices to ventilators across Indonesia. The company has 47 branch offices and 3,000 employees that serve 10,000 stores consisting of pharmacies, clinics and laboratories, retail stores, supermarkets, and 95% of hospitals in 463 cities in Indonesia.
Rudy highly upholds his business value. Although demand has been high since the pandemic broke out, and goods become scarce in the market, Rudy ensures that prices remain the same as before the pandemic and all goods and distribution to all regions, from Sumatra to Papua, remain satisfactory. In fact, the company does not serve bulk purchases or monopolies by one or more entities. "No city we serve is lacking in what it needs," he said. Rudy added that, "Because we are blessed and we need to share our blessings with others. We are grateful to be able to share our blessings with others. That is my business value and I keep reminding my employees about it. You must put your religious beliefs (all religions) into practice in everyday behaviour.”
That’s why Rudy has not laid off his employees or cut their salaries during the pandemic. Rudy did not think about making a big profit in these difficult times. For him, as long as the company could still employ people, there is no pressure for employee restructuring. Today, the demand for medical supplies is increasing along with the increasing number of positive cases in Indonesia. Therefore, apart from growing its business and meeting the growing demands, Dos Ni Roha also needs additional capital.
Bank DBS Indonesia sees that Dos Ni Roha shares the same goal and business value. “We are aware that many companies have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, making it difficult for them to run their business, or take advantage of the situation. However, it's a different case with Dos Ni Roha. As the largest distributor and supplier of medical facilities equipment in Indonesia, they respond to the pandemic with a strong humanitarian business value. In the midst of high demand and scarcity, Dos Ni Roha maintains its commitment to ensuring that prices remain the same and goods are evenly distributed nationally. Their business objective is so strong they are able to help the government deal with limited medical supplies in the midst of the pandemic,” said Corporate Banking Director, PT Bank DBS Indonesia, Kunardy Lie.
“Today, more and more people need the goods we distribute. This has become more than just a business for me. I feel proud to be able to actively contribute to the country in ensuring that our goods can reach as many people across Indonesia as possible. If more and more people have access to Covid-19 test kits, we can help the government map cases in Indonesia and at the same time ensure that we distribute medical equipment evenly across Indonesia - we can do it!" Rudy said.
