After undergoing a very comprehensive judging process, PT Bank DBS Indonesia (DBS) was nominated as one of the five companies in Indonesia for the “Best Employers” on AON Best Employers – Indonesia 2016 award. DBS was also awarded in the special category of “Best Employer – Women in the Workforce”, which it secured through the large percentage of female employee achievers who occupy the managerial level at 49 percent, as well as the various initiatives undertaken by DBS in supporting working women. This year is the first opportunity for DBS in entering the ranks of winners in this event, and the achievements obtained by DBS Indonesia strengthen its position as “Best Employers” on a regional scale for the same award that has been achieved by DBS in several countries.

The award emphasizes the importance of aligning commitment between human resources empowerment and daily executions. The event also discussed how to accommodate differences in today’s work culture where the majority of workers in Indonesia are from the Y generation or more commonly known as the millennials. It is estimated that in 10 years, the generation of workers will be dominated by the Y and Z generations. Therefore, it is important for the company to prepare for the generational shift and how to react to the company’s survival.

PT Bank DBS Indonesia Human Resources Director Satia Indrarini said, “Similar to those faced by other companies, the issue that has become our focus this time is how we can be a company that continues to evolve in line with current developments and innovations to be a leader, to allow us to create a making banking joyful” work culture.

“In addition to the focus on continuous evolution, we are also committed to gender diversity in the company and continue to improve the experience of employees at work or what we usually call employee journey”, added Satia.

To improve the employee journey, DBS has launched various initiatives that are packaged in the form of activities and benefits for its employees, starting from flexible working hours and place of work, complete working infrastructure, to flexible health benefits and employee training that can be enjoyed. DBS also believes these initiatives can help employees to improve their work performance (improve efficiency) in a company.

Another concerns the advances in digital technology that are currently the center of attention in various industries. The digital trend is currently considered a disruption for some industries whose business model is affected by this progress. In this case, DBS embraces these technological advances to improve the quality of working infrastructure programs to encourage the uptake of digital culture for its employees.

In the same occasion, PT Bank DBS Indonesia Vice President Director Peter Suwardi explained,
