A Gen Z perspective: Nostalgia for a simpler time

We celebrated Mother's Day at the oldest Nonya restaurant in Singapore! In a heartwarming gathering, 45 mother-child duos and trios from diverse backgrounds, communities, and generations came together to share a meal and reflect on their cherished memories of their mothers. The duos had a chance to make their own popiahs, converse with mothers from different generations and backgrounds, and even exchange tips on reducing food wastage while sharing memories of their favourite dishes lovingly prepared by their mothers.

Children and Dads win hearts all around the bay

As part of DBS Perspectives @ Esplanade, DBS took the opportunity to celebrate Father’s Day at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre! The spotlight was on Dads, who with their children modelled fashionably styled upcycled clothes from social enterprise Cloop. Some of our DBS employees also joined in the fun, accompanying beneficiaries from Fashion For A Social Cause down the stage. Hosted by comedienne Rishi Budhrani, whose own father made a cameo during the show, the event saw an energetic crowd cheering on generations of fathers and their children!

Breaking stereotypes… but make it fashion

Dressed in pre-loved clothes and accessorised with sparkling confidence, 39 models of various generations and backgrounds won over the audience that had gathered at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre. Hosted by DBS Foundation in partnership with social enterprises City Sprouts, The Fashion Pulpit and Fashion for a Social Cause, the showcase demonstrated that preloved clothes can still be very fashionable and created a platform for harmony, inclusiveness, and a space for new conversations.
