stated, “As a trusted wealth manager, we open more opportunities for people to increase their wealth through digital platforms with smart, safe, reliable and relevant investment solutions. This partnership gives Moduit customers greater access to secondary market bonds offered by Bank DBS Indonesia. More than just synergy between two financial institutions, this partnership signifies the efforts of Bank DBS Indonesia and Moduit to accelerate financial inclusion and make investment products more affordable for all. This is in line with Bank DBS Indonesia's goal to continue to support more equitable financial prosperity across all levels of society or wealth democratisation.”
YouGov research for Bank DBS Indonesia in 2023 showed that 27 percent of people in the retail segment opt for investments to manage their assets. The same study revealed that 41 percent of Indonesians use online applications to access financial services, showing the importance of integration between investment and technology. The growing interest in investment is also confirmed by data from the Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), which highlights the fact that the number of investors, especially bond investors, has now reached more than one million with a growth rate of more than 21.4 percent from 2020-2023.
Bonds have become popular nowadays for several reasons, such as more attractive returns compared to savings or deposits, price stability, and fixed maturity dates and interest payments, making them a predictable financial management option.
Another factor driving the increase is ease of investment. Currently, Bank DBS Indonesia offers various benefits such as ease of investing digitally and the flexibility of buying and selling bonds that can be done anytime and anywhere.
