As a design leader, I aspire to be a role model to encourage continuous learning and growth for my team’s success. Learning to improve and better myself is important in helping my team and I succeed.

What inspired you to join DBS Group Design?

A place to develop and nurture talent. I was the 9th person to join the team and I joined when the team was fairly small. I was in interior designing prior to this and I wanted to do something different like understanding the different types of investment products! DBS actually offered me a job when I first started out in the UX industry. Since I’ve joined, the team has grown significantly larger in size, delivering greater impact and I’ve never looked back. DBS is definitely a place to make people’s dreams come true too!

Teamwork. In DBS group design, we are a community of unique individuals with similar interests who are willing to come together to share and discuss ideas, trends, knowledge in the spirit of learning from one other. I find it fun and purposeful to work together in such an environment. Everyone in the team has an equal voice where you get to share your opinions, concerns, challenges and any learning from their day to day job. A motto I will give to everyone is to challenge yourself and never give up.

The desire to improve myself. Learning to improve and better myself is important to me. For example, for topics which I am interested in but uncertain about, I will always make an effort to understand them to stay ahead of the current trends. Training funding is also available to me from the company. As a leader, I aspire to be a role model to encourage continuous learning and growth for my team’s success.
