DBS named most valuable brand in Singapore
DBS also named most improved brand; increased brand value by 20% to USD 5.3 billion
According to Brand Finance, DBS has grown its brand value by USD 899 million, up 20% from the previous year. Significantly, DBS has also extended its lead from the pack, with over USD 2 billion of brand value between itself and the second most valuable brand in Singapore.
Samir Dixit, Managing Director of Brand Finance Asia Pacific said, “DBS not only manages their brand as an important asset, they have also managed to drive their brand strength rating to a strong AAA-, which has allowed them to widen their lead as the number one brand. DBS is also a strongly competitive brand both in the region and globally; this is demonstrated by their constant ranking improvement in the global 500 rankings.”
Karen Ngui, Head of Group Strategic Marketing & Communications, DBS Bank said, “Over the past few years, we have been committed to shaping the future of banking, as well as embracing human-centred design and journey thinking. What’s more, with the digital revolution, we have also been more disruptive in the manner in which we have entrenched the brand. We are honoured that these efforts are being acknowledged, and we have been recognised, yet again, as Singapore’s most valuable brand. This award is a testament to the efforts we have been making to reimagine banking, and will spur us on to continue to make banking simpler and effortless so our customers can live more and bank less.”
London-based Brand Finance is an independent brand strategy and valuation consultancy. The Singapore Top 100 Brands report is published annually and incorporates data from all listed companies. Each brand is accorded a brand rating: a benchmarking study of the strength, risk and future potential of a brand relative to its competitor set; and a brand value, which is a summary measure of the financial strength of the brand.
