Bank has been at the forefront of developing a digitally enabled workforce;

Singapore, 02 Sep 2016 - DBS Bank announced that it has been named Best Employer in Singapore and the region by Aon Hewitt. The results were determined after a rigorous research process by Aon Hewitt conducted over a nine-month period across employers in the Asia Pacific.

What sets DBS apart in an industry that is being disrupted is its increasingly digitally enabled workforce. This is part of the bank’s commitment to future-proofing its employees and improving their ability to drive the transformation of banking.

To develop an innovative mindset among its 22,000 people, DBS was the first in Singapore to incorporate hackathons into its talent management programme.  The bank also gives employees the opportunity to experiment and discover solutions for clients, their teams and themselves. This focus on digital has not distracted from the physical, with offices designed to allow social hubs to thrive, allowing for collaboration, socialisation and fun. This is in line with the bank’s aim of creating an engaged, collaborative and connected workforce.

Lee Yan Hong, Managing Director and Head, Group Human Resources, DBS Bank said, “DBS believes that a strong corporate culture binds the hearts and minds of employees, helping us build employee engagement and in turn creating real business outcomes.”

She added, “We want to create a great workplace where employees feel connected and valued, while growing and progressing in their journey with DBS. Our holistic suite of people initiatives helps our people meet their aspirations at every stage of their life so they can live fulfilled. We are pleased to be recognised by Aon Hewitt as a regional best employer and one of the best employers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.”

DBS CEO Piyush Gupta added, “DBS has made it a priority to ensure that we differentiate ourselves in the way we identify talent and retain them. At every level in the company, and at every stage of the employee journey, we are committed to helping our people be the best that they can be. This means future-proofing our people and transforming them into a digital workforce, while also making DBS a fun place to work. We believe that this has made us one of the best employers not just in Singapore, but also in the region, and are happy to be recognised as such.”
