Hong Kong, 24 Dec 2003 - It has come to the attention of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited that an Internet website calling itself DBS Bank and operating under the URL www.dbshk.net has been set up.

DBS Bank wishes to advise that this website has no affiliation whatsoever with DBS Bank, nor the Group.

DBS Bank would like to remind customers to ensure they are connected to a valid DBS Bank website before keying in any confidential personal data. For customers to ensure that they are genuinely connecting to DBS Bank website, they can simply click the key / lock icon at the bottom of the browser, a certificate will immediately pop up on the screen. Customers can check DBS Bank information from the certificate such as company name, URL, certificate issuer, validation date, and encryption types etc. DBS Bank would also like to remind customers to always type www.dbs.com into the browser address bar or use favourites / bookmarks to access the DBS Bank website.

DBS Bank has reported the fraudulent website to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the police, who are working with relevant authorities to shut down the fraudulent website.

If customers are concerned that they may have revealed their security details to fraudulent websites, they should call DBS Bank's customer service centre at (852) 2290 8123.
