In today’s digital age, we know you want banking to be simple, seamless and invisible, so that you can spend time on the people and things you care about.

Recognising this, we’ve spent the last few years reimagining banking. And now, we believe the time has come to truly embody a new kind of banking.

Our commitment is this – we’ll be working doubly hard to enable you to live hassle-free with invisible banking, seize life’s opportunities and live larger than yourselves. In other words, to “Live more, Bank less”.

It’s more than just a tagline – it’s a promise that we are making.

Meet Pearly, a chatbot teacher at DBS

We'd like you to meet Pearly Teo, a chatbot teacher. Or in other words, a natural language processing engineer at DBS, the #BestBankInTheWorld. Pearly was formerly a customer service officer and was reskilled to meet the changing needs of this digital age. She now trains our digibank virtual assistant to respond to customer queries. “I coach the bot to answer questions instead of doing it myself. Part of my daily workflow includes annotating 300-400 conversations between humans and the bot, training the bot to answer questions accurately can be very satisfying,” she says. So what puts a smile on her face? “I enjoy seeing the questions that I have annotated being used to respond to a customer’s query. Customers ask us anything under the sun, so it’s exciting when the bot recognises that and is able to respond to their questions faultlessly!” “Some customers ask questions like: 'are you a guy or a girl? Where do you live?’ I program responses to these as well and it's nice to be able to add a little humour into the conversation,” she quips. In our new #HumansofDBS series, we feature some of our colleagues who work behind the scenes to make banking seamless and hassle-free! #LivemoreBankless #DBSturns50

Meet Tian Joo and Bervia, from Group Audit in DBS

Meet Tian Joo and Bervia, Group Audit colleagues in DBS, who have a passion for helping the less privileged. The duo, along with others in the audit team, have been travelling overseas to volunteer since 2014. They remember first stepping into a school in Cambodia. It was dark and bare as it lacked electricity and other resources. “It did not feel like a place for children,” Tian Joo recounts. Determined to brighten the children’s lives, the volunteer team set to work painting murals, in addition to a slew of other activities that ranged from career planning talks to distributing donated items. “We wanted to make their school a happy and cheerful place. That began a tradition of us painting a new mural every year,” says Tian Joo. “Seeing the school get more cheerful and playing with the children brings such joy! It’s the sense of progression: every year, things get better, little by little.” In our #HumansofDBS series, we feature our colleagues who are living larger than themselves! Watch on find out how a nail inspired efforts to make an important road safe. #LivemoreBankless #DBSturns50 #BestBankInTheWorld
