“The DBS GA Operations programme is a great opportunity to explore and develop my passions and create meaningful interpersonal relationships with my colleagues. Through this two-year program, I get to explore different functions within Operations through the job rotations. I am also empowered to drive projects ranging from data governance to system migration. This enabled me to hone essential project management skills and nurture my critical thinking skills.
All Graduate Associates are also given platforms to lead and manage bank-wide activities through the DBS Recreation Club. In 2021, I was given the privilege to lead the Service Recognition Awards together with my HR colleagues to appreciate and recognise more than 1,000 long service staff. If you are looking for a job that is meaningful yet fulfilling at the same time, join the Graduate Associate – Operations programme!”
“My GA Operations experience has been enriching, with many opportunities to learn and connect with people from diverse backgrounds and work experiences. One of the highlights was leading a digital upskilling initiative for some of my colleagues in Operations. Together with my fellow GAs, we crafted the curriculum and conducted a series of trainings. The end-to-end process was fulfilling as we helped increase work productivity through the use of digital tools.
It was interesting to be able to meet fellow GAs from various disciplines. Despite the virtual arrangements, we managed to build meaningful relationships with one another, and offer emotional support and share our knowledge that we gained from our various job rotations. The GA program is a good starting point for a career in banking with learning and development opportunities that will help you grow.”
“My experience in the GA Ops programme has been fulfilling! The rotations offered across the Bank’s line operations are precious opportunities to meet new people and gain exposure to the scope of different roles. I have had the opportunity to interact with many superiors, colleagues and fellow batchmates from diverse backgrounds, and have learnt a lot from the experiences they’ve shared. I am especially grateful for their kindness and willingness to teach, and share.
This programme has equipped me with key skills like data visualisation, analytics, regional stakeholder management and project management through the various projects and rotations I have been exposed to. Activities such as volunteering, co-leading DBS Rec Club’s Corporate Deals, and the various gatherings organised by different teams, have made my experience at DBS a colourful one. The programme gives one a lot of room to grow, try new things and receive constructive feedback.”
Our training is based on a mix of experience, education and exposure. The intensive curriculum includes banking and financial skills and concepts, business and personal effectiveness modules. DBS also values immersion and field trips. After the initial training, ongoing training and development opportunities will also be provided.
All new hires will go through a structured programme that comprises of training to build your banking knowledge and rotations to the specific functional areas. The Programme Manager will work together with you to customise your Individual Development Plan. Key considerations include your individual strengths and career interests, as well as business needs.
