DBS Hong Kong is sponsoring a new refrigerated van that will be used by Foodlink Foundation to help collect safe-to-eat surplus food from F&B outlets all over the city and deliver it to the underprivileged. The aim is to rescue 14 tonnes of surplus food, which would provide about 34,000 meals for the underprivileged.
DBS Hong Kong has also enlisted celebrity Danny So (細So), and his wife, Wing, and children, to help bring “Care more, Waste less” to life in the community, with the whole family spending a day helping Foodlink Foundation rescue and redistribute surplus food. To encourage everyone to reduce food waste, DBS Hong Kong is offering its credit card customers an InstaRedeem 20% off (Maximum deduction per transaction is HK$100 off) when shopping at GreenPrice, a social enterprise specialising in surplus and short-dated stock. In addition, DBS Hong Kong employees are encouraged to donate more than 8,000 cans of surplus food to Foodlink Foundation, for redistribution to the needy in the community.
