The Startup

Wonderful Minds

A startup that uses a dermatoglyphics-based neuromapping tool to help discover people's innate talents, maximise their potential and overcome their weaknesses.

About the Challenge

Effective client servicing is a vital part of the DBS Consumer Financial Planning Group, where stronger and better client relationships are built on the delivery of consistent, value-added services. In today's ever-evolving market, wealth managers are always on the lookout for innovative and meaningful ways to do so.

The Solution

The Startup Xchange team explored various market opportunities that would help wealth managers build better relationships with their clients, and landed on the unique solution of a dermatoglyphics, or the scientific analysis of fingerprints, offered by Wonderful Minds.

VVia a state-of-the-art fingerprint scanner, the startup's neuromapping tool instantly generates a 22-page US patented report, which shows the individual's natural talents and weaknesses. This is especially relevant to wealth managers to understand how they better can tailor their offerings to their existing and potential customers.

With its expertise and knowledge in the banking industry, the Startup Xchange team mapped out market opportunities to help broaden Wonderful Mind's network. This included three roadshows hosted together with POSB wealth managers, where Wonderful Minds demonstrated its neuromapping tool. The initiative was hugely successful - welcoming long lines of eager participants - and allowed the wealth managers to have more meaningful conversations with their customers on future planning. The teams also worked closely together to refine and improve the startup's existing product designs and collaterals.

Additionally, such reports add value to clients who are parents by giving them greater insight on how to best communicate with and nurture their child. On an organisational level, employers and employees can learn how to communicate more effectively, working towards greater harmony and productivity in the workplace.

The Startup Experience

Since partnering with Startup Xchange, Wonderful Minds was able to secure more business opportunities from organisations and educational platforms. The startup has also scaled overseas, establishing presence in China, India and the Middle East.

Through the broadening of their networks, Wonderful Minds has since been able to achieve economies of scale, enjoying a 25% increase in revenue.

Our philosophy is that we eat problems for lunch! We are here to help our clients solve their problems: from parenting, to corporate training and recruitment, team and talent management. The Startup Xchange programme provided us with the necessary tools to chase all our goals - a tremendous amount of support and advice, enabling us to have a conducive environment for us to hold our brainstorming and training sessions, and also helping us to better package our services to clients.
