Indonesia, 15 Jul 2026 - Global economic uncertainty, shaped by shifting geopolitical dynamics, the direction of interest rate policies, and financial market volatility, has prompted investors to adopt a more measured approach to investment decisions. As a trusted partner that helps clients navigate these evolving conditions,
Bank DBS Indonesia hosted
DBS Insights Forum 2026: A New Lens on a Multipolar World, an interdisciplinary forum featuring
Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of the
Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI),
Yunarto Wijaya, Executive Director of
Charta Politika Indonesia, alongside leading experts, investment management partners, and specialists from Bank DBS Indonesia. The forum explored strategic perspectives to help businesses and investors better understand evolving policy developments, global supply chain shifts, and their implications for Indonesia’s economic outlook.
President Director of PT Bank DBS Indonesia
Lim Chu Chong said, “DBS Insights Forum 2026 is designed specifically for our private and priority banking clients to help them navigate wealth management amid an evolving geopolitical and economic landscape. By bringing together diverse perspectives, we hope the forum will provide practical guidance and best practices for growing wealth and businesses while also supporting sustainable family succession planning. We remain committed to empowering our clients to make investment decisions with greater confidence through professional advice and long-term strategic insights.”
Optimising Investment Opportunities Amid Market Dynamics
At
DBS Insights Forum 2026, panelists explored strategies for navigating global market dynamics and end-to-end wealth planning, covering topics ranging from US-Asia geopolitics and Indonesia’s resilient economic fundamentals to intergenerational wealth and succession planning.
To complement these insights, the
DBS Chief Investment Office (CIO) recommends that for the third quarter of 2026, investors increase allocations to Asian equities excluding Japan, developed market corporate bonds, gold, as well as private assets and hedge funds. At the same time, the CIO maintains a neutral stance on global, US and Japanese equities, and developed market government bonds while recommending reduced exposure to European equities, emerging market bonds, and cash. Among these asset classes, gold continues to stand out as an attractive diversification and hedging instrument, supported by its long-term outlook amid geopolitical risks, inflationary pressures, and the global de-dollarisation trend.
As the second half of 2026 unfolds, investment opportunities are expected to remain available despite continued global market volatility. Investors are therefore encouraged to maintain disciplined diversification and build resilient portfolios that are well positioned to capture opportunities across different market cycles.
