To fuel summer football fever ahead of “Hong Kong Football Festival 2026”

Hong Kong, 14 Jul 2026 - While the World Cup draws to a close, the excitement for football continues to build in Hong Kong with the upcoming “Hong Kong Football Festival 2026” (“HKFF 2026”). As the Diamond Sponsor and Banking Partner for the first match of HKFF 2026 – Manchester City vs. FC Internazionale Milano, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“DBS Hong Kong”) partnered with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) to bring an interactive football experience to children and community. The event featured Matt Orr, DBS Hong Kong’s brand campaign ambassador and Hong Kong representative football team player, alongside fellow football star Philip Chan, to share football techniques and inspire youngsters with the spirit of sportsmanship.

Teaming Up with Athletes to Champion the Strength Behind Every Victory

DBS Hong Kong has specially invited Matt Orr to be the brand ambassador for the “Score Together with DBS” campaign. As a forward, his unwavering determination, professionalism and resilience on the field perfectly align with DBS’ brand advocacy. In a match, while forwards lead the attack and look for scoring opportunities, they often rely on seamless coordination and precise assists from teammates to seize the winning moment. This trust and support reflect the role of DBS Hong Kong in its clients’ life, career and wealth journeys, providing timely “assists” and strong “defense” through professional banking services and forward-looking planning, and serving as a trusted partner every step of the way.

Collaborating with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to Ignite Football Dreams in the Community

DBS Hong Kong and TWGHs have maintained a long-standing partnership in community development. To mark this special occasion, DBS Hong Kong invited more than 20 young football fans from TWGHs’ Nursery School to attend the kick-off ceremony and participate in an interactive football experience with Matt and Philip. Through fun and engaging games, the activity aims to foster teamwork, promote a healthy and active lifestyle, and inspire children’s interest in sports.

To further engage children in one of Hong Kong’s major sporting events, DBS Hong Kong will organise a specially designed activity riding on the “Hong Kong Football Festival 2026” and invite 100 primary school students from TWGHs’ Community Service Centres to the Kai Tak Stadium on 31 July 2026 to watch Manchester City’s open training session. This will provide them with an opportunity to experience professional football training first-hand and immerse themselves in the vibrant football atmosphere.

Alphae Chen, Managing Director and Head of Group Marketing and Communications, DBS Hong Kong, said, “Football is more than just a sport; it is a universal language that connects people across cultures and geographies. DBS Hong Kong is delighted to support the ‘Hong Kong Football Festival 2026’ and share this passion and vitality with the wider community. Over the years, DBS Hong Kong and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals have maintained a close partnership in community development. Through this major sporting event, we hope to bring football and the spirit of sportsmanship into the community, inspiring more young people to pursue their dreams with courage.”

On the football pitch, teamwork is the cornerstone of every victory. Similarly, it applies to wealth management journeys, where a trusted and reliable partner serves as the strong support of every success. DBS Hong Kong believes that a company’s long-term success is built upon not only on business growth but also on earning clients’ trust, actively contributing to the community and creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
