HONG KONG,15 November 2018 -

In a world of instant gratification, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) is elevating the customer experience to a whole new level, with the launch of a revolutionary way for new customers to instantly get their hands on a DBS credit card, and immediately start enjoying it from the comfort and convenience of their mobile phone.

This first-in-market solution leverages FinTech innovation to simplify the credit card application and approval process to a matter of minutes via the award-winning DBS Omni app, and eliminates the hassle of submitting documents, as only the Hong Kong identity card is needed. Through instant in-app provisioning, the credit card is seamlessly integrated with popular mobile wallets, such as Google Pay (first time in Hong Kong), so that customers can start enjoying fabulous offers straight away.

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) CEO Sebastian Paredes said, “As FinTech innovation continues to drive a fundamental shift in the financial services operating model, we are constantly redefining the customer journey with game-changing technology that successfully transforms how people access financial services at scale.”

Ajay Mathur, Managing Director and Head of Consumer Banking Group and Wealth Management, Hong Kong, at DBS Bank (Hong Kong), said, “We believe our latest first-in-market solution totally transforms the end-to-end credit card customer experience, and will help spearhead our successful efforts to truly make banking joyful and enable our customers to ‘live more, bank less’.”

In Hong Kong, DBS, which was recently crowned Best Bank in the World by Global Finance and is a two-time winner of Euromoney’s World’s Best Digital Bank award, is pioneering efforts to transform the way banks serve, engage and interact with customers through FinTech innovation.
