With many people in Hong Kong impacted by the pandemic, DBS Hong Kong today announced that every customer who registers to receive the HK$10,000 government cash payout through DBS will help the bank provide the needy in the community with up to 10,000 food packs from local charity Foodlink Foundation. This meaningful gesture is a simple way for customers to be part of DBS Hong Kong’s “Care more” initiative to provide much-needed support to help the elderly and vulnerable groups better cope with the pandemic.
DBS Hong Kong will donate 1,000 DBS “Care more” Food Packs from Foodlink for every 10,000 DBS customers who register to receive the government cash payout. The aim is to benefit 10,000 vulnerable families with 10,000 food packs. This commitment is on top of an earlier donation of 10,000 Foodlink food packs from DBS Hong Kong employees and the bank.
“Given the uncertainty many people face amid the pandemic, we must work together to support those most in need. We hope this meaningful gesture will bring some joy to affected families, and encourage everyone to do more to help out in the community. Together, we will emerge stronger through these challenges,” Vivian Chan, Managing Director, Deposits, Payment and Secured Lending, Consumer Banking, DBS Hong Kong, said.
The “Care more” initiative embodies the way DBS works, which is about creating impact that goes beyond banking, to touch real people, real businesses and real lives. Together with DBS, customers can make their HK$10,000 cash payouts more purposeful, and help make an impact to the vulnerable communities.
To “Care more” together with DBS, customers can simply register their eligible DBS bank account to receive the government cash payout via the bank’s internet and mobile banking platforms from Sunday 21 June to Wednesday 30 September. During this period, customers will also receive three e-Stamps valued at HK$50 in total, and up to nine e-Stamps for a total value of HK$150 when conducting eligible digital transactions via their current and savings accounts.
