DBS Treasures together with BNP Paribas present BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology Titans 50 Sharia USD for the global technology sector

Indonesia, 11 Nov 2021 - Technology is accelerating relatively fast, supported by people’s growing dependent on technology in their daily lives, notably in the midst of the pandemic. S&P Dow Jones Indices data shows the annualized performance of its conventional technology index, the Dow Jones Global Technology Index, exceeding 28% over the last 5 years as of August 31, 20211[1]. The figures illustrate the sector's recent strong growth. In view of the fact, DBS Treasures, a priority banking brand at DBS, in collaboration with PT BNP Paribas Asset Management (PT BNP Paribas AM), introduced BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology Titans 50 Shariah Index Sharia Mutual Fund (BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology T50S USD). This is the first sharia equity mutual fund in Indonesia with an index tracking investment strategy that focuses on the top 50 global technology companies that comply with sharia principles2[2] whose performance and management are measured by the Dow Jones Islamic Market (DJIM) Global Technology Titans 50 Index. DBS Treasures is the first mutual fund selling agent to distribute the product in Indonesia. This has strengthened DBS Treasures' commitment to expanding customers' investment solution choices as part of intuitive wealth management that pays attention to the latest opportunities so that customers can be confident in making timely decisions.

“DBS Treasures is always proactive in analyzing the latest market conditions and communicating strategies to deal with them through digital omni-channels according to customer preferences for media. Using insights into and analyses about opportunities in the new economy sector in global markets, customers can maximize these opportunities through BNP Paribas Index Sharia Mutual Fund solution DJIM Global Technology Titans 50 Syariah USD available on the digibank by DBS application. This is part of a digital capability that continues to change and expand, offering investment flexibility and flexibility to develop portfolios 24/7. Customers can enjoy the convenience of the Single Investor Identity (SID) registration process, buying, selling, and switching to online mode from anywhere and anytime," said Djoko Soelistyo, Head of Investment Product & Advisory at Bank DBS Indonesia. "The product has proven to be relevant to customer needs as indicated by the level of customer interest, with the sales volume of the BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology Titans 50 Syariah USD Sharia Mutual Fund reaching around 300% of the target in the first week since its launch on DBS Treasures," he concluded.

BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology T50S USD aims to fully replicate the Dow Jones Islamic Market Global Technology Titans 50 Index issued by leading global index provider S&P Dow Jones Indices. The index contains 50 stocks of global technology-related companies, and is classified into two broad themes, namely Software & Computer Services and Hardware & Technology Equipment. Screening of companies is carried out by considering financial ratios to protect investors from companies with excessively high debt levels often found in this sector, as well as business activities that are based on sharia principles and ethical values without disregarding opportunities for innovation and growth.

The launch of BNP Paribas DJIM Global Technology T50S USD as a result of collaboration between BNP Paribas AM and DBS Treasures as the first distributor confirms the commitment of both parties to providing the latest and innovative solutions for investors in this era of change. In May last year, BNP Paribas AM and DBS Treasures issued the first index mutual fund that replicates the IDX Growth30 Index, namely the BNP Paribas IDX Growth30 Index Mutual Fund that captures opportunities for 30 best growth stocks.
