Tridi Oasis

Our beginnings

At the end of 2015, I mustered the courage to resign from my promising consulting career to pursue my dream and passion in entrepreneurship and the environment. Believing that plastic waste is essentially a kind of raw material that’s just misplaced, I worked on a business idea focusing on how to recycle plastics.

In 2016, I started Tridi Oasis to recycle plastic bottles, a waste item that is generated in the thousands daily in Indonesia.

Today, our company aims to turn city waste into sellable products, creating more sustainable employment in the waste collection economy. We are excited to continue to grow and divert more plastic from the ocean and landfills.

The work we do

Established in 2016, Tridi Oasis is a growing manufacturer of recycled plastic bottles in Indonesia. We aim to turn problems into opportunities through recycling city waste.

Currently, we produce a wide range of medium to high grade PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) flakes that can be transformed into sustainable packaging and textiles. This enables customers to develop products that perform, look, and feel better. In addition, Tridi Oasis produces fibre-grade flakes that are sought after by various industries like food packaging and textiles.

We have also developed a vast network of recycling centres to sort and separate the plastic raw materials by colour and plastic type, to avoid contamination in the manufacturing process. Our current production levels are at 9,000 tons annually.

Traditional waste collectors are a vital partner for us to source plastic waste.

Impact created

To date we have,

  • Created 120 stable jobs.
  • Recycled 250 million plastic bottles back to market in 2021 alone.
  • Directly impacted over 300 individuals through our supply chain.
  • Co-founded Beach Clean Up Jakarta, which has held 20+ clean up events between 2017 and 2021. During these events, more than 1,000 volunteers collected and diverted approximately 25 tonnes of plastic waste from the ocean.

How we partner with DBS Foundation

DBS Foundation Businesses trailblazing for impact

The DBS Foundation Social Enterprise Grant enables us to further our feasibility study and complete the R&D of processing multi-layer plastic (MLP) into plastic pallets. If successful, we will be able to diversify our business to other types of plastics and create a bigger impact on reducing plastic pollution. Flexible plastics is currently the least recycled and, therefore, the most common plastic that ends up in the environment and requires our attention.
