DBS Treasures Private Client reports 18% asset growth on 4th anniversary
Indonesia, 21 Jul 2022 - DBS Treasures Private Client reported that asset under management (AUM) grew by 18% while the number of clients increased by 9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022. The achievement highlighted the celebration of the 4th anniversary of DBS Treasures Private Client. The anniversary marked four years of providing clients in the high net worth individuals (HNWI) segment with wealth management and optimisation services through curated solutions across generations to help them stay at the forefront of global digital transformation. The highlight of the anniversary celebration was an exclusive session featuring
Hou Wey Fook,
Chief Investment Officer at DBS Bank as the expert in investment and management at Bank DBS Indonesia.
In the session, Hou Wey Fook affirmed the commitment to wealth preservation as part of DBS Treasures Private Client’s curated solutions across generations, as well as insights and market outlook on inflation.
“With regard to macroeconomic conditions, entering the third quarter, the main challenges facing the market are persistent inflation, the Fed’s hawkish stance, as well as the growing risk of recession and declining profits. There are several important points to note, including the fact that China’s technology sector will continue to outperform, thus maintaining the bullish outlook for Chinese equities. You can still invest in US tech giants. Next, focus on good-quality fixed income instruments rather than keeping cash whose value will be eroded by inflation. The content industry is worth considering, including content creators, advertising-based content business models, as well as content created by users," said
Hou Wey Fook
.
Hou Wey Fook added that given the current inflation and volatility, investors should have alternative investments, such as gold, base metals, oil and gas, as well as private equities, to diversify portfolio risks. Clients can build an investment portfolio from a combination of investment funds, stocks and bonds or the so-called “satellite” approach. Through this approach, investors can achieve higher returns in a short term and keep portfolios resilient to the effects of inflation.
