Covid-19 requires a collective effort to overcome. At DBS Foundation, we’re committed to journeying alongside our social enterprises to weather the challenges ahead – so that we’ll emerge stronger together.

Amid the global pandemic, DBS Foundation saw the need to step up. Some of our additional initiatives and efforts in the region in 2020 are:

  • A Business Transformation and Improvement (BTI) Grant totalling SGD 550K, awarded to 14 DBS Foundation-supported social enterprises across Asia in May 2020. The BTI Grant allowed businesses to pivot their strategy and operations to protect and create jobs, explore new income streams, and transform digitally. Overall, the BTI Grant supported 5,200 existing jobs and created more than 1,500 new jobs, impacting >1.3 million beneficiaries and their families.

Notably, this special grant is in addition to our flagship DBS Foundation Social Enterprise Grant Programme. As of 2020, more than SGD 6 million in grant funding has been provided to nurture over 100 SEs in the region.
  • Partnering with social enterprises to provide HR, finance, capital raising, digital marketing training, mentorship and resources through skills-based volunteering with DBS employees.
  • A Covid-19 Business Resource Guide sharing the latest insights, data, thought leadership, and actionable tips to navigate the current economic uncertainty and help business owners position their companies for recovery and growth as economies move towards a gradual restart.
