• DBS Bank launched Singapore’s first hospitality REIT (City Development Limited) and the country’s first business trust, Pacific Shipping Trust as well as the IPO for Thailand’s largest brewer, Thai Beverage
• DBS is the first Singapore-headquartered bank to receive a banking licence in Dubai. The bank opened its flagship branch in the Middle East at the Dubai International Finance Centre focusing on the private banking & wholesale banking business

• DBS seized opportunities in India by establishing a joint-venture with India’s Cholamandalam, a part of India’s Murugappa Group to tap the growing consumer finance market in India

2004

• DBS was joint lead arranger for the Suntec REIT, the largest IPO in Singapore that year
• DBS Thai Danu Bank merged with Thai Military Bank and Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand to create TMB, in which DBS has a 16% stake

2003

• DBS was the global coordinator, lead underwriter and sole bookrunner for the Cheung Kong sponsored REIT, the first overseas sponsored REIT to be listed on the Singapore Exchange
• DBS pioneered the Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) business in Singapore with the launch of CapitaMall Trust
