Instalment Payment Plans (IPP)

Instalment Payment Plans are especially suited for merchants with big ticket items or large purchases (>SGD500), as it allows customers to use their DBS cards to pay in 6, 12, 24, 36 or 48 interest free monthly instalments. DBS was the first bank in Singapore to offer IPP for both retail and ecommerce/internet merchants.

Dynamic Currency Conversions (DCC)

DCC allows merchants to charge foreign cardholders in their home currencies, instead of SGD. Foreign cardholders will be able to know and lock in the preferential quoted exchange rates at the time of purchase (as opposed to allowing the foreign cardholders’ banks to decide the rates, which are unknown), and can still choose to pay in SGD if they do not like the quoted rates. As an incentive for merchants to push for DCC sales, DBS provides substantial rebates for successful DCC transactions, and have programmes to track and reward specific deserving counter staff.
