SICCI-DBS Singapore Indian Entrepreneur Awards 2006

DBS is proud to partner Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) in the 'SICCI-DBS Singapore Indian Entrepreneur Awards' since the inauguration in 2004.

Into its third year, the Award is the first to be launched for the Indian business community in Singapore to recognise outstanding Indian entrepreneurs and encourage the spirit of enterprise among Indian businesses in Singapore.

As banker and business partner of many of the very established Indian businesses in Singapore, DBS looks forward to the opportunity of making even greater contributions to the growth of the Indian business community in Singapore through this initiative.

Details of the Awards

1. Eligibility

The application is open to all Indian individuals who fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

1. Nationality: The applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident.
2. Singapore-registered: The applicant’s business/company must be Singapore-registered.
3. Ownership: The applicant must own at least 10% share in that business/company, if it is an unlisted business/company. In the case of listed companies, the applicant must own 10% share or S$500,000 of equity (in market value), whichever is lower.
4. Active Involvement: The applicant must have been with that business/company and been actively involved in the management of that business/company for at least 3 years for Categories 1 & 2 and between 2-5 years for Category 3 applicants.
5. * Winners of SIEA 2004 & 2005 are not eligible to apply for the 2006 Awards.

2. Categories

Each applicant can submit his/her application under one category only. There are three categories, namely:

Category 1: Large Enterprise
For entrepreneurs whose business’/company’s gross yearly turnover is more than S$10 million

Category 2: Medium Enterprise
For entrepreneurs whose business’/company’s gross yearly turnover is S$10 million or less.

Category 3: Young Entrepreneur
For entrepreneurs who are not more than 35 years of age on the closing date of applications.

3. Submission Deadline

The submission deadline for applications was 12:00 noon on Monday, 14th August 2006.
