Q1: What is a Cash Acceptance Machine (CAM)?
ANS: It is a 24-hour self-service banking terminal, which accepts cash deposits using ATM card or POSB passbook. Do note some of our touch-screen machines can be activated without use of your card or passbook to deposit to your preferred accounts.
Q2: How does it works?
ANS: Your account will be instantly credited with the cash deposited. This machine also updates your POSB passbook instantly subject to update operating hours ( 7am – 11pm). A receipt will be issued to you for each successful deposit. Deposit service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ANS: For the convenience of our customers, we have machines that can deposit cash without the need to use your card or passbook. Simply touch the screen and the follow the step by step guide. You can even deposit $1000 bills in these machines!
Q4: Can I withdraw cash from these Cash Acceptance Machines?
ANS: No. This machine accepts cash deposits only and does not dispense cash.
Q5: Who can use this DBS/POSB Cash Deposit?
ANS: Any DBS/POSB/POSB customer who has: -
  • DBS/POSB ATM cards;
  • DBS/Corporate Cards;
  • DBS/AMEX/VISA/MasterCard;
  • POSB Savings Passbook
Q6: What are the accepted denominations and currencies?
ANS: Only Singapore Dollar currency is accepted. The accepted denominations are S$10, S$50 and S$100 (Ship and portrait series only).

In addition to above currencies, we also have some touch-screen machines that accept $1000 bills.
You can touch screen to begin transaction with the option to use your card/book or without.

Q7: How much cash can I deposit each time?
ANS: You may place a maximum of 100 pieces per deposit; in any combinations of S$10, S$50 and S$100 notes.

For the touch screen machines, you may place a maximum of 120 pcs inclusive of $1000 bills.

Q8: Do I need to sort the notes according to denominations before depositing at the machine?
ANS: No, your bundle of notes can comprise of mixed denominations.
Q9: Is my account credited immediately?
ANS: Yes, your account is credited immediately.
Q10: Can I use the machine to update my passbook without depositing cash ?
ANS: Yes, you can.
Q11. What happens if the DBS/POSB Cash Acceptance Machine reject my cash?
ANS: If your cash is rejected, you will be asked to remove the cash from the cash slot. ( beeping sound and flashing light indicator) Once removed, you will be asked to confirm the remaining amount and pieces in the machine. This will be displayed on the confirmation screen for you.
Q12: Why is the machine unable to accept my cash?
ANS: One possible reason could be your notes are either crumpled, soiled, defaced or folded.

Please ensure that your notes are properly straightened ie. without folds, dogged-ears etc before depositing.

Q13: What happens if I do not remove some of the cash rejected?
ANS: You will be asked to remove the cash again (with beeping sound and flashing light). If there is no action, the machine will prompt you again as reminder. If cash is not removed, the machine will retain your cash and card/passbook for safe keeping.
Operating Hours
Q14: What are the operating hours of this machine?
ANS: The deposit service is available for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Passbook updating services is available between 7 am to 11 pm daily. However, do note above subject to bank’s system maintenance and other activities. Please call our bank should you need to find out more.
