Permanent Secretary Of Ministry Of Transport Appointed To DBSH Board Of Directors

SINGAPORE, March 26, 2003 - DBS Group Holdings Ltd (DBSH) said today it has appointed Peter Ong, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport, to the Group's board of directors.
Ong, 41, has held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport since July 2002. He was previously Second Permanent Secretary (Defence) at the Ministry of Defence. From 1998 to 2000, he was seconded to Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited as its Executive Vice President. Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions at various ministries. He is also the Chairman of the Maritime and Port Authority and a Director of TIF Ventures Pte Ltd. He was previously a director of DBS Thai Danu Bank Public Company Ltd from October 1998 to January 2001.
With his varied background in public service and Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, Mr Ong is an active participant in the highest level of policy development and decision-making and will be able to bring his experience to bear in Board deliberations.
